Food Zine Creation on April 6th & Brooklyn Brain Frame Right After Fest on April 21st!
In addition to the zine fest itself, we’re putting on two exciting events in April:
As part of Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday festivities on April 6th, we’ll be co-hosting a food / cookbook zine compilation event along with Malaka & Claire from The Runcible Spoon (D.C.) and Ayun from The East Village Inky (Brooklyn). Stop by from 8pm to 10pm with your recipes and food stories (either written, printed, or in your head) and put together a page to be included in this community-sourced food zine.
We’ll have paper, templates, collage materials, all the fixins, and plenty of creative energy if you need help. The whole event is FREE and all ages, and you’ll be able to see the finished zine a few weeks later!
We will be writing, drawing, & collaging at tables on the stage of the Cantor Auditorium on the 3rd Floor near the elevators:
And starting shortly after the Brooklyn Zine Fest (Sunday, April 21st at 7pm to be exact) we’re co-hosting the first-ever Brooklyn edition of Brain Frame, a Chicago-based performative comics variety show produced by artist Lyra Hill. Come see a bunch of BZF exhibitors presenting slideshows, blown-up comics, and other visual wonders. (See videos from past Brain Frame shows here.) Held at Public Assembly, this is also kind of an after-party for the zine fest, where you’ll be able to grab a drink with other zine fans & makers and have your mind blown by some great writers and artists. Also FREE!
